ABOUT THE RACES

In order to participate, we needed to assemble a team of 25 rowers. After begging
and pleading we found a number of friends willing to take part and set out to practice
on the mighty Blackstone River. After only a few practices (as you can imagine you
need a good proportion of those teammates to be able to maneuver the 40 ft boat)
and much coaching/technical advice from
Gordon, we showed up race day and set
up the tent that would be our home base for the day.

The event itself was of a magnitude we had never imagined. In addition to the races
there were children's activities, food and live entertainment. Between the event itself,
the people and the amazing snacks brought by our peeps it was one of the best
days of the summer. We just getting ready to rev up for this year's race scheduled
for
Saturday September 9 from 8:30 - 5. I'm hoping to have bucket tees ready to
sell at the event.

The pictures to the right were taken by our teammates
Seth Price, Peter Benarcik
and
Nina Hadley who were all kind enough to help us document the day. A special
thanks is also in order for all our
Bucketeers who came out and made the day a
special one. Dust off your shirts guys, it's almost time to get back in the water!
ABOUT THE LOGO

In 2005, Joe and I organized our first dragon boat
team, the
Pawtucket Bucketeers, for the 2005
Taiwan Day
Celebration at the Pawtucket Arts
Festival
. Our team logo, was the inception for the
production of my Bucket tees. Overwhelmed by
requests to trade or sell the very shirts off our
backs, I thought starting a production line would be
a much better resolution to the mile-high demand.
Shirts are now available at the Pawtucket .Farmer's
Market.
